Over 600 College Campuses Compete to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

RecycleMania springs back into action as college campuses compete to see who can reduce, reuse and recycle the most on-campus waste. For a 10-week period, beginning in mid-January and running parallel to the college basketball season, colleges and universities take part in an exciting competition that increases recycling participation by students and staff, and raises awareness about the significance of waste reduction programs on campuses. Rewards for Saving Energy, Recycling? Enjoy Cupcakes, eBay Discounts

Paying people to save the earth? This concept is gaining ground as more businesses, utilities and government agencies offer cash and other incentives -- like cupcakes and massages -- to encourage conservation. One company, RecycleBank, announced Wednesday that its recycling points can now be used for eBay purchases. Another, Earth Aid, is offering an array of prizes that include cocktail-mixing classes and for super-duper savers in Philadelphia, a weekend bed-and-breakfast package at the Four Seasons Hotel. City of Atlanta Launches Pilot Incentive Based Recycling Program

The City of Atlanta announced that a select group of Atlanta residents will soon be rewarded for their curbside recycling efforts. In an effort to encourage proper recycling habits, boost recycling participation, reduce the amount of recyclables being sent to area landfills and save taxpayer money, City officials introduced the pilot rewards program as an opportune way to move towards a greener, cleaner Atlanta. Nantucket Tops in Nation for Recycling

Kentucky Now Collects Styrofoam for Recycling; National Park Really Excited

The only problem - who is going to take them back and recycle them? IESI Unveils LEED Certified Texas MRF

NRC Board Votes Unanimously to Support Reorganization Plan
