Southern California Gas Co. Gives Instant Rebates for Energy-Efficient Appliances

Southern California Gas Co. residential customers can now qualify for instant rebates when they purchase certain clothes washers, dishwashers, and water heaters. Customers receive a $35 rebate for high-efficiency clothes washers and $30 for high-efficiency dishwashers and water heaters when the appliances are purchased at a participating retailer. Although the system could save households hundreds of dollars every year, the purchase and installation of the tankless system is more expensive than traditional heaters.

Toyota and Lexus Vehicles Certified for New Energy Tax Credit

Washington --- Two 2007 vehicles now qualify for the hybrid tax credit that went into effect in January. The Toyota Camry Hybrid and Lexus GS 450h qualify for a $2,600 and $1,550 credit respectively. Buyers are encouraged to make their purchases sooner since the full credit is available for only a limited number of hybrids. Full Article

There's Still Time for Tax Savings

San Francisco -- The new hybrid tax credit that went into effect on January 1, offers taxpayers up to a $3,400 deduction. The credit is phased out once a manufacturer sells more than 60,000 hybrids. Through March 31, Toyota, the most popular hybrid manufacturer, had sold 35,754 vehicles. Full Article
