Progress Plans Solar Incentives

First 'Show-Me Green' Sales Tax Holiday Debuts This Week

Citizens will be able to save money, conserve energy and stimulate the economy by participating in the first Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday, which runs Sunday, April 19, through Saturday, April 25. The holiday means a savings of at least 4.225 percent to people who purchase new ENERGY STAR ® qualified appliances in Missouri during the holiday. The reduced price represents the elimination of the state's sales tax from the purchase. Full Article

Wind, Solar Tax Credits Extended in $700 Billion Bail-Out

Washington, DC -- The $700 billion bail-out package includes incentives for renewable energy. Most notably for consumers, the solar investment tax credit provisions will extend for eight years the 30 percent tax credit for both residential and commercial solar installations. In addition, the $2,000 monetary cap for residential solar electric installations is eliminated. Full Article

Schools Saving on Energy Costs
