How/where can I recycle used tennis balls

As an assistant high school tennis coach, I have hundreds of used tennis balls. I live in Columbia, Maryland. I have asked many people in schools and tennis clubs, but no one wants old dead balls or knows where to recycle them. Thanks for any suggestions.

Try your local animal shelter. Dogs love tennis balls and many destroy them pretty quickly. The shelter might like a nice supply.
